Today our friendly neighborhood comcast (cable) technician visted us. It seems that cable companies are required by the FCC to control leakage from their systems, even if it is coming from a residence. comcast recently discovered that our house was leaking.

After careful analysis with his handheld gizmo (which reminded me of one of the tools from Ghostbusters), he was able to determine that I had a couple of connectors on my distribution board that weren't well connected. Quick as a flash he popped off all of my cheesy connectors and replaced them all with professional connectors. Another check with the Ghostbusters sensor showed no more leakage.
The tech that did the work was professional, knowledgable, and efficient. I think that our utilities are often the brunt of many ill-earned jokes and jabs. I'm very happy with the service today from comcast.
