If you have your Internet connection through Comcast, do
not turn off your cable modem until after November 16th. Short reason: you won't be able to reconnect to the Internet. Long reason: It appears their primary DHCP server in Denver failed, which caused a cascade failure throughout their markets. After the Denver server is repaired, each of the child systems will have to be initialized - one at a time - on a national basis.
UPDATE: 11/15 The Comcast crew is moving more quickly than was originally anticipated; most areas are now working normally.
