This weekend we prepared for another first in the Edmonds house - a phone! After a year in the house we are finally ready to have a phone line attached. We've survived the past year on a cell phone that still has a Port Saint Lucie phone number. I requested the installation on Saturday; the new number should be active by Tuesday, October 24th. Today I installed "outside rated" CAT5E cable from my communications board to the outside of the house, next to the buried cable from the phone company. Hopefully we'll have a dial-tone by Tuesday.
This weekend included a number of other small projects, including the installation of a 3' x 2' whiteboard in our home office. During my research I discovered that by spending a few more dollars on the whiteboard ($12 versus $35) you're more likely to get a board that will resist staining and "ghosting" for a much longer time. We'll find out!
