A couple of months ago, one of our neighbors, Mike, removed nearly a dozen bushes from in front of their house. The bushes attracted bees when they were blooming and a member of their family is alergic to bee stings. My other neighbor, Harry, potted the bushes - giving about half of them to me.

Today we put five of them in the ground. They extend the existing hedge to the edge of the driveway. Harry borrowed Mike's rototiller and began some serious demolition on the strip of ground destined to hold the bushes. There were times when I questioned Harry's skill with the rototiller, but I know that I would only chop off my foot... I kept my mouth shut. Harry managed to do a great job of tilling the soil, mixing in some nice compost along the way. Kenny and I followed behind him, planting the bushes, complete with a healthy handful of chicken poop.

Eventually the job was completed and a happy Harry headed for home... he really does like to dig in the dirt! By the way, "We want... a shrubbery" is a line from a Monty Python movie.
